After almost 30 years i bought a new scope! I felt like a child waiting for a new big toy. I didn't sleep that night! A very nice instrument for that price, simple to handle and really faster, a big step forward: from F10 to F4!!!
The first thing i did as soon as it arrived it was dissasmbly the focuser and placing my DIY focus controller with some adapters and screws in mine creative way...
The focusing is really simpler and effective and now i don't need anymore to use often a Baahtinov mask i can do it from remote but i need some practice to well handle whole process, some frames wasn't perfectly focused.
I choosed for the first light something relatively simpler... Relatively not so simpler!!! I musted did a lot of sub frames for showing better the external part of nebula and without a narrowband filters set is very difficult especially when you use a DIY OSC camera...
Unfortunately the sensor is not alligned with the focal plane and setting up the coma corrector was difficult and sincerly not very well done. Anyway i will solve soon when my friend Alessandro De Meis will send me one of his tilt corrector "truly made in Italy".
The AdM BM2020 mount with this scope work like a charm!!! It is amazing to see that big scope on a little but strong mount: no frames discarded for guiding problems...what to add?
